The group will aim to help the girls understand their diagnosis and learn strategies to help them manage. The format will be a mix of both discussion groups\, where a topic is picked each month and the group focus is on that topic\, and creative activities so there will be an opportunity to learn new skills\, and to be in a social environment that feels more natural and safe. \nPre-registration and session booking are required.

DESCRIPTION:Understanding ADHD is a 6-week course that focuses on increasing parents understanding of their ADHD child/teenager and looking at how best to support them\, The course provides in-depth information as well as providing a safe space for parents/carers to ask questions and connect with others. The 6 sessions will include the following topics:- \n\nIntroductory session\nOverview of ADHD and the opportunity to learn from a young ADHD person\nUnderstanding the impact of Executive Functioning and ADHD\nUnderstanding Behaviour\nUnderstanding Emotion Dysregulation\nUnderstanding Sensory and Communication Differences\nADHD and the Family\n\nEach session is for two hours and the courses are held either online in the evenings or daytime at CAAS.
