Training will cover: \n\nWhy autistic people are probably at higher risk of homelessness\nWhy autistic people may find it more challenging to take up support offered by homeless professionals\nGuidance on how to identify if a person living with homelessness might be autistic\nHow professionals can adapt their practice to better support autistic people living with homelessness\n\nAlasdair Churchard is a Clinical Psychologist and NIHR pre-doctoral fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Oxford. He carried out the first published research into links between autism and homelessness\, showing that autistic people may be over-represented among the homeless population.

The group will aim to help the girls understand their diagnosis and learn strategies to help them manage. The format will be a mix of both discussion groups\, where a topic is picked each month and the group focus is on that topic\, and creative activities so there will be an opportunity to learn new skills\, and to be in a social environment that feels more natural and safe. \nPre-registration and session booking are required.

DESCRIPTION:For adults who have a diagnosis of ADHD or who suspect they have ADHD and are who a resident of Harrow and Hillingdon. \nThe adult ADHD group provides a safe and non-judgemental environment for adults to come and explore what it means to have a diagnosis of ADHD\, and to get help and support with issues arising in their everyday lives. Alternating months in-person and online.
