I first accessed CAAS as a parent, over 12 years ago. I was amazed by the warmth that I received, as well as the wealth of information and support.
With a background in psychology, I previously worked as a counsellor and support worker at a number of charities and continue to work as a therapeutic counsellor. I have additional training in working with Teenagers. I have been lucky that my work background and qualifications have been a good match for my role as Lead Family Support and Youth worker.
I’m passionate about my work and love the variety of work and the opportunity to meet and work alongside lovely families. I enjoy all the different aspects of my work including, working directly with parents offering 121 support as well as advocating alongside parents with professionals. I work with young people at the centre as well as in schools and other education settings. I particularly enjoy all of the groups I’m involved in including Girls Group, Creative Group, Film Group, Lego Therapy and Whytry. I also have the opportunity to work with our adults at the Women's Forum.
At CAAS there is always an opportunity to learn more and develop my skills and knowledge and it’s a privilege to support our amazing and dedicated Family Support team.
