Please note: these FAQs are specifically for adults (18+) seeking support for themselves, or for parents, carers, and supporters of people over 18.
A: Our service is for any adults (18+) on the waiting list or diagnosed ADHD or autistic living in one of the eight North-West London boroughs. (Brent, Ealing, Harrow, Hammersmith & Fulham Hillingdon, Hounslow, Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster).
We do not take referrals for anyone living outside of the eight Northwest London boroughs. We do not take any referrals from people outside of these listed boroughs or any other counties.
A: Our CAAS Adult team is here to support autistic and ADHD adults, as well as their families. We provide tailored advice, practical resources, and a range of services, including groups, workshops, and personalised task support. A: No, we do not provide assessments or diagnoses for Autism or ADHD at our centre. This means we cannot complete tests, give a formal diagnosis, or accept referrals from people who are looking for a diagnosis. We cannot accept referrals for diagnosis.
At CAAS, our role is to provide support, advice, and resources for autistic people, people with ADHD, their families, and professionals, not to carry out diagnostic services.
A: No, we do not provide medication management or prescriptions for ADHD. This means we cannot give, change, or monitor medication. For any medication questions, you should speak to the clinician who carried out your ADHD assessment or your GP (family doctor), as they are responsible for managing ADHD medication.
A: No, we do not take referrals for anyone living outside of the eight Northwest London boroughs (Brent, Ealing, Harrow, Hammersmith & Fulham Hillingdon, Hounslow, Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster). If you do not live in one of these boroughs, we cannot accept your referral. We do not take referrals from any other London boroughs or counties outside Northwest London.
A: We provide a support and advice service for autistic adults, and adults with ADHD who do not have a learning disability. If you have a learning disability, you can access support from Mencap or other Learning Disability Support Services.
Some people use “learning disability” to describe dyslexia, dyspraxia, or general learning difficulties. These are learning differences, and we do support autistic and ADHD adults who have learning differences.
A: CAAS Adult services does not offer therapeutic support, counselling or talking therapies. Our Personalised Task Support sessions are practical, goal-based support with a Specialist Autism/ADHD Advisor. These tasks will help clients who are eligible for this service to fill out forms, navigate systems and support communication with other services. But this service is not a therapeutic support service.
A: Our Creative Coffee Connects is a drop-in service. You do not need to register or join a waiting list. you can simply come along, meet some of the team, learn more about CAAS, and talk about the services that may interest you.
All our other groups (listed on our website here) work differently. To join these groups, you must:
- Live in one of the eight North West London boroughs (eligibility requirement).
- Be registered with CAAS.
- Be invited to the group by an Autism/ADHD Advisor.
Most groups also have a waiting list, so you may need to wait before you can attend.
A: No, CAAS does not provide advocacy services. We are not legally insured or registered to act as advocates on behalf of individuals. This means we cannot attend appointments, meetings, or legal processes to speak on your behalf. If you need advocacy, we recommend contacting recognised advocacy providers in your area who are trained and insured to support you directly.

A: Our task-based support is to help you with executive functioning tasks, however we are not a coaching or skill building support service. We are a “help you to do it” service so can break down tasks and help you to complete them, but do not offer executive functioning workshops or skill sessions. We cover executive functioning and some support strategies in our Embracing Autism course.

A: No, CAAS is not an employment support service, though we can support you to get connected to local employment support in your area.

A: No, we cannot come to your home to work with you on tasks. We offer in person, online, telephone, and text based (WhatsApp, Teams instant messenger etc) support sessions and are happy to work with you to make the sessions as accessible as possible.
